l researched the internet for some time and found some sites that say that baking soda is the only thing that kills the roaches and sugar is only bait. Well on some sites, they mention that baking soda and sugar will produce a reaction inside the stomach of the roach leaving it dead. Can someone please bring light upon this subject? And is it also true that cockroaches have acids on their stomachs?

What is the chemistry behind the baking soda+sugar pesticide used for the eradication of cockroaches

yes, in short the baking soda has a PH level of 9 (extremely high) and cockroaches have acid in there stomachs (hydrochloric Acid) when combined together you get the vinegar and baking soda result an ''explosion'' which kills there internal organs. the difference between expensive pesticides and cheap ones is how well the sugar is bonded with the baking soda. (NaHCO3)-baking soda+(C6H12O6)-sugar

Cockroaches do have an acid stomach. The acid reacts with the baking soda to release CO2 gas.

I found several articles saying to use boric acid.

I found one about the sugar/baking soda reaction. I entered acid and cockroach into Google. It was an article by Golden Harvest. I can not vouch for the site.
